The Six Domains of Career Readiness
Career readiness is not a single attribute. It is a multidimensional profile across six distinct domains — each with its own weight, its own indicators, and its own developmental path.
A Multidimensional Assessment
Each domain is scored individually and contributes to your overall Career Readiness Index. The scoring model uses domain weighting — not every domain carries equal importance for every role or career stage. The AI report interprets your profile in context, not through a one-size-fits-all lens.
Self-Belief
Confidence in your own capability
Self-belief is the foundation of career readiness. It measures your confidence in your ability to perform tasks, overcome challenges, and achieve career goals. Without it, competence stays hidden. This domain draws on Bandura's self-efficacy research — the single strongest psychological predictor of performance across domains.
Low self-belief doesn't mean low ability. Many highly competent professionals underestimate themselves. The assessment identifies the gap between your actual capability and your perceived capability — and that gap is often the first thing to address.
- Self-efficacy expectations vs. actual competence
- Confidence in skill application, not just knowledge
- Resilience in the face of career setbacks

Professional Identity
Clarity of who you are professionally
Professional identity measures how clearly you understand and articulate what you stand for in your career. What is your professional narrative? What makes you distinct? Professionals with strong identity don't just do their jobs — they bring a defined perspective, values, and expertise to everything they touch.
A weak professional identity is one of the most common reasons talented people get overlooked. When you can't articulate your value clearly, others define it for you — often in ways that don't serve your career trajectory.
- Clarity of your professional narrative and unique value
- Alignment between personal values and work role
- Confidence in articulating your professional brand
Career Agency
Proactive ownership of your career path
Career agency measures the degree to which you take intentional, self-directed action to shape your career — rather than letting circumstances, employers, or inertia determine your trajectory. It's the difference between a career that happens to you and a career you build.
This domain is informed by the protean career concept, which distinguishes between career actors (who drive their own development) and career passengers (who wait to be developed). Agency is the engine of career mobility.
- Proactive networking and opportunity creation
- Deliberate skill development and career planning
- Willingness to make strategic career moves

Performance Readiness
Your ability to deliver results consistently
Performance readiness measures your capacity to consistently deliver high-quality work — not just in ideal conditions, but under pressure, with limited resources, and across competing priorities. It separates those who can do the work from those who can reliably do the work at scale.
Many professionals score high here while being stuck in their careers. When performance readiness is high but career mobility is low, the bottleneck is almost always in another domain — most commonly Professional Identity or Career Agency. The assessment identifies these cross-domain patterns.
- Consistency of output across varying conditions
- Time management, prioritisation, and execution
- Adaptability and problem-solving under pressure
Organisational Navigation
Understanding and working the system
Organisational navigation measures your ability to understand the formal and informal structures, power dynamics, and cultural rules of your workplace — and to use that understanding to advance your goals. It's the domain most often cited by senior leaders as the hidden factor that separates high performers from high potentials.
This is the domain where highly competent individual contributors most frequently score low. They believe that "work should speak for itself" and resist playing organisational politics — not realising that navigation is not manipulation; it's understanding how decisions actually get made.
- Understanding organisational structure and decision-making
- Building influence and strategic relationships
- Visibility management and strategic communication

Growth Readiness
Openness and capacity for development
Growth readiness measures your orientation toward learning, development, and career evolution. It captures both your mindset (do you believe growth is possible?) and your behaviour (are you actively pursuing it?). This domain draws on Dweck's growth mindset research and psychological capital (HERO) frameworks.
Professionals with high growth readiness are the ones who consistently outpace their peers over time — not because they started with more ability, but because they maintained a trajectory of improvement while others plateaued.
- Learning orientation and openness to feedback
- Adaptability to changing role demands
- Resilience and recovery from career disruptions
Beyond the Domains
The assessment goes deeper than individual scores.
Domain Weighting
Not all domains carry equal importance for every career stage or role. The assessment applies dynamic weighting based on your context, and the AI report explains which domains matter most for your specific situation.
Consistency Index
The assessment includes embedded consistency checks that detect response patterns. A low consistency index flags potential contradictions in your self-perception, which the AI report highlights as areas for deeper reflection.
AI-Generated Report
Your results are synthesised into a personalised report by AI, interpreting your domain scores, weighting, and consistency data together. The report delivers actionable recommendations, not generic advice.
